Priority 5 – Investing in sustainable, innovative and future-compliant local transport

Without a successful mobility turnaround, the climate targets cannot be met. Therefore, local public transport, in particular, must be strengthened so that individual transport can be reduced and CO₂ emissions thus sustainably lowered. Modernising local public transport mainly by using innovative, low carbon drive systems in urban areas and connecting cities and their surrounding regions in a user-friendly manner is an indispensable element in implementing a sustainable climate policy.
